Oh, thank goodness you got to him. I picked one up that was housed in a 10
gallon fish tank with a piece of wood on top! He was very overweight also
and he is the 2nd one I have had overweight. Just a little time, um...6
weeks maybe? and feed him what he is eating, hopefully he will eat your food
type. My little guy absolutely had a ball running through the house. As
yours, mine rule. Just that one thing brought his weight into proportion of
his little body.

I think you have done the very best thing; you took him
home. I only have had one ferret I actually paid for and I needed a cage
mate for one of my kiddies. Do you need any supplies? I have a few extra
"blankets" I use for them or maybe some water bottles? I really don't have
any "ferret dishes" but I did come across heavy bottomed bowls.
How many babies do you have? I have Kahoona, Elvis, Cotton, Nonie, and my
little MeLou got out about the 8th of last month and I got another broken
heart. She literally kept this house rolling. It's so quiet now.

I am sure you already love this little guy. The one I did pay for is Elvis.
He is so sad. Like your little guy, I don't think he was ever out of the
cage; he has no desire to interact with the other ferrets nor a human. I
pick him up to hold him hoping over time he will come around. It's been 8 or
9 months now. He literally claws to get away from you. For months he did not
come out during the day; only through night. About a month ago he started
slowly coming out to eat and drink. Now he's out about every 2 to 3 hours. I
am not sure if he can ever come around. Don't you just feel like.....telling
these people off?? These guys are so awesome how could anyone do that to an
animal? I wonder how they treat their kids.
Oh, one thing they have a ball in and that is the clear long tube
thingy...cannot remember the name; it looks like the tube that runs behind
your dryer. It's great exercise especially if you get 2 playing in it.
Please let me know if I can do anything.

Linda
