To: "ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

what if u have one who has been coughing for weeks. i thought it was him choking on the water bottle and getting to much water so i changed the tube so it was smaller.   then i thought it was the food he was choking on but i have seen him cough and gag when not doing either one.  his is a dry cough

(moderator note: I think same advise applies, if not seen by a vet, take him to a vet as no advise on this forum can substitue for a good history taken and exam by a vet and possible chest xray or other exams as indicated.

This is TIME FOR A VETERINARY APPOINTMENT, not for home treatment, and you can NOT wait with coughing, even if it means paying for an emergency appt because a cough like that can indicate several possible things and some of them can become rapidly life threatening.

First step: chest x-ray.
