Hi kg,  I have tested him on the grain-free diets, but all that I've tried has some sort of chicken or poultry in it.  It could be the grains that he's allergic to, but I really think its poultry, because when I add in Gerber's turkey babyfood or the Evo canned Duck, or any canned turkey, he gets the diarrhea.

I also did try the Totally Ferret Turkey Venison Lamb, but that gave him diarrhea too.  So I don't know if its from the Turkey, or it has "Dried Egg Product" in it, or if its the grains.  It could even be both poultry and grains he's allergic too?

Also, I'm really curious if someone knows why the Kaolin Pectin would give him diarrhea.  I've asked both his vet and the pharmacy and they don't know why.  And this gives him the worst kind, its clear and watery and just seems to continually leak out of him for a couple of hours after I've given it to him.  I'm baffled.
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,  I recently went to a grain free diet for my female ferret due to two bouts of undiagnosed diahhrea (ultrasound, bloodwork, etc done).  She has been doing very well since the switch. I decided to test a grain free diet first as grains seemed to be a less compatible ingredient for a ferret.

best wishes for your ferret!
