Subject: [ferrethealth] IBD & Adrenal Disease
To: "ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
Has anyone ever heard of treating a ferret for IBD with a low dose of Flagyl, for life? When Minky was taking Flagyl her diarrhea got better but a few days after ending the treatment, the diarrhea came back. My vet wants to put her back on Flagyl indefinitely.
Minky also has adrenal disease and despite getting a deslorelin implant, which didn't seem to work, and then a Lupron shot, she is still losing hair. What does this mean? That neither treatment is working, or that I need to get a melatonin implant for the hair to grow.
Thanks,
Shron
