I am also a bit confused. I have been following and researching everything I can on these implants regarding using them for chemical castration. I currently have 3 hobs implanted with the 4.7 DES for about 8 months and all is going well. All came out of season and two are living with jills happily and content. Two are older hobs, around 5-6 years old and one is 3 years old. I attended the IFC symposium this year and heard the talk on these implants. I do not remember anything regarding the use of a stronger dose implant but possibly I missed something? I will be implanting more this winter for castration purposes, both hobs and jills of various ages. If anyone is interested in my personal observations with this feel free to email me privately. I would love to have a group of us using the implants for this purpose to converse to help all keep up to date on issues and progress.
