Subject: [ferrethealth] Low white blood cell count
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

My ferret's blood work came back with a white count of 1.8. It's always been within range in the past and this sample was sent to the same lab. I know low glucose readings can result from blood not being spun down and/or tested within a certain time frame and am wondering if this or something similar could cause a low white count. If not, what other cause(s) should I be concerned about? She is spayed and will be 3 in Jan. She has been sleeping more than usual and doesn't have as much energy when she is up and about. Her cbc, differential and out-of-range chemistry values are listed below. Thank you.

WBC 1.8 (Low) 2.5-8.0

Neutrophils 936 52%
