My younger ferret recently had a bout with red blood diarrhea that plagued her for weeks on and off.. The blood was bright red. Â What FINALLY cleared it up was a combination of antibiotics and sucralfate. Â We had tried antibiotics alone first, which helped, but then the issue would come back. Â It wasn't until we added the sucralfate that the issue went away and STAYED away and she is now back to her old self again (getting into everything!). Â She did not have an ulcer in her upper GI (evident by the bright red blood) but the sucralfate still helped to heal her.
