We have used this.. http://www.spadiggitydog.com/neem-aloe-bar.html for fleas when my brother's ferret came to visit with a flea infestation.  Absolutely no chemicals and worked wonders.

[I did some checking on Neem, which is the primary ingredient in this soap and it appears to be safe for use in ferrets. However, any ordinary Ferret shampoo will have the same effect. Shampoos and soaps break down the exoskeleton of insects including fleas. Getting rid of them on the ferret's body is not as much of an issue as eliminating them from the environment the ferret inhabits, once the little nasties get into your carpets and in between floor boards. - Moderator (TD)].
