Subject: [ferrethealth] Please some input
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a little albino girl. She is not eating much even the duck soup. Maybe a teaspoon every couple of hours. Her little back legs seemed wobbly. She is on Pred and that helped some. Her blood work was good except the glucose was just a little low. She has not perked up at all. She sleeps all the time I have to wake her up to eat. They have done x rays and all but everything comes up normal. Please any ideas would be greatly appreicated. Thank you all so much

[How low is "a little low?"

She probably needs to have her pred dose adjusted again. Is it prednisone or prednisolone (pediapred) that you are giving?

I would get her BG checked again and/or speak with your vet about increasing the dose. Do not increase it on your own without veterinary guidance.

In order to be effective the pred has to be administered every 12 hours, or ideally if your schedule allows, dividing the daily dose by 3 and giving it every 8 hours.

What are you feeding her as duck soup? You may need to add some things to it. - Moderator (TD)].
