We have had several anal prolapses to deal with---first we treated with Preparation H...which did work, though I don't know how safe for animals who lick themselves.....second (different ferret) the vet repaired-- it had a lot of trouble healing and we had to treat it for days with Bacitracin...again...I don't know how safe. Another ferret had prolapse problems, and we changed his diet, as the food was giving him diarrhea and prolapse. (He had been on this same food for months before the diarrhea started)The food changed his poops, and the prolapse has not returned (it's been a year) I recently learned of the sugar treatment, and while it sounds hokey, I would definitely try it first, as it would only be potentially harmful to a ferret with Insulinoma....Good luck!
Brenda
