These methods are fraught with problems but may also be OK, the difficulty is to know for sure. If there is uncertainty and to avoid unnecessary expense it may be more useful to ask the vet to obtain a specimen by cystocentesis.
I repeat that my worry is caused by both types of crystals being present, this should not be possible. I invite correction if I am mistaken.
