Subject: [ferrethealth] IBD - Budesonide ???

I'm wondering if anyone has used Budesonide instead of prednisolone in cases of IBD, and in this case, extreme IBD? We're considering and trying all options with Dozer, as described in my previous post earlier today. The vet says that it stays in the stomach longer, isn't absorbed as fast, and thus could work better. Dozer is still in the hospital, only slightly improved. Got dexamethasone today, will be getting 1.0 mg of prednisolone tonight, and we're switching him to a totally poultry-free food. Fortunately, he ate a decent amount of it for me when I was there, mixed with water and made into a soup of sorts. We're really running out of things to try.
