Dozer got an injection of dexamethasone today, and is supposed to get 1.0 mg of prednisolone tonight and then again in another 12 hours. The most that he had been on previously, when things were working well with his digestive system, was 1.0 mg of pred per day, divided into 3 doses. That was the level that he was being weaned down from. He did well at 0.67 mg daily, but after going down to 0.33 mg daily, that's when everything went downhill fast. The weaning process had been very slow and deliberate. It may or may not be related, but for now I have to assume that it is.
As for diet, today he was switched to a totally non-poultry kibble, Taste Of The Wild. This particular flavor has salmon and ocean fish meal as first two ingredients and no chicken or poultry whatsoever. Since every other attempt at figuring out his problem has failed, changing diet is one of our last hopes. He always got plenty of fiber via either kibble or plain pumpkin added to his soup 3 times daily.
