OK Let me make this clear I will not allow her to be in heat for months or even a month. I have been on a lot of different web sites and done a lot of research.  She has only been in heat for a week That is from when i first saw that she was starting to swell. She is eating and drinking and playing,, And her color is pink.

I know if they don't get bred or by a V hob ( which by the way I thought was just a neutered ferret like the ones from the pet shop which i have one. )  Did not know there was a difference till I found it in a web site I was on, and it explained what it was.

Everything I have read says they should not be spayed while in heat. So I have to get her the shot. And I am taking her to my vet in the morning.  I have a ferret vets phone number that she can call, For advice. My Hob is not in season . So he cant help

Now this is the same ferret that I posted about the hacking cough.. And i found the round thing in her mouth past the teeth  in the back on the side it looks like a pimple it is not red. it has gotten bigger in size tried to take a picture of it  that did not work. I think that is the reason for the cough she has had.  Thanks for all the good advice  Did not mean to upset anyone here,,,

[The growth in her mouth could be a polyp or small tumor. While she is under anesthesia for the spay that can probably also be addressed. You'll want your vet to send it off to a lab for pathology to determine what it is and if any further treatment is needed. Since you don't know if this is benign or malignant this does add yet another reason why care is urgent.

You are correct that you will need to have your ferret brought out of heat and then spayed. There are two steps involved. --Moderator (CMM)]
