Hi Lynda,
The excessive scratching is from the adrenal gland disease.
Time to add monthly Lupron or the deslorelin implant to his
adrenal treatment.
Other things that may help including using fish oil or emu oil
(for omega 3) as a daily supplement, benadryl or short term pred
to help with the ichy skin, and weekly baths with a dog/cat shampoo
for ichy skin (ie oatmeal and aloe products) and a conditioner with
cortisone in it (Resicort). If you are using Ferretone (high in omega 6),
it may add to the itchyness.
