Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: ferret bleeding from his mouth
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Thank you to everyone who replied to my posting. I did end up taking Rocky to an er vet last night and make the decision to help him cross the bridge. I had seen some dark stools in the group he lives with, but had another ferret who'd not been feeling well. I wasn't sure which ferret was responsible and wasn't able to observe anyone being the culprit. When we got to the er vet, Rocky went to the bathroom and the mystery was solved. He was bleeding from both ends. The vet said the liver issues can cause clotting issues, which I wasn't aware of. I made the only choice I could to prevent him from any further discomfort. He was alert and moderately active to the very end. He even tried to climb out of the carrier on the way. His will to live was still so strong, his body was just failing. Thank you again...
