Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: ferret bleeding from his mouth

One other thing to consider, since you mention that the ferret has insulinoma: I had a ferret with insulinoma who when he was having mild to moderate seizures would paw and claw at his mouth, because of the nausea he was experiencing. The clawing would result in small scratches to his mouth and gums, causing him to bleed. He was usually foaming at the mouth a bit as he did this, so it looked like he was throwing up frothy blood, although that wasn't actually the case. Anyway, if your ferret has been experiencing any seizures, this might be one other source of bleeding to take into account.

Good luck,

Regina
