Melatonin is involved in multiple pancreatic functions and some of them are opposing functions, so if a person looks at just one of those it may give a false picture.

We've had such ferrets on combination of Suprelorin (the deslorelin implant since the daily deslorelin should not be used) and ferretonin (melatonin implant) with no problem in the past, and have had such ferrets before then on the Lupron depot (daily Lupron should not be used) and Ferretonin without problem before then.

There was some confusion at one point in the past (quite some time ago) when a very small but adult ferret was given ketamine in a melatonin test and it was wondered if the melatonin was causing her problems or if the ketamine was since that is known to have that potential. Her size might also have played a part.
