The possibility of black or dark green worries me since either can be digested blood, indicating several things to investigate such as Helicobacter, perforation, upper GI malignancy, E. coli infection, coccidia (though that can be frank blood instead depending on location of the infection), etc. With coccidia multiple fecal specimens must be checked for BOTH Eimeria and Isospora which require different magnification levels.

Has the vet checked to see if that is blood? If so, do read up on the way to use liquid Carafate in the separate FHL Archives.

Sorry that I had time to only skim your post.

Ferrets can get diarrhea from a wide range of causes.
