If you are going to take your baby in for blood glucose test, he should fast before (our vet recommends at least 3 hours) or the test won't be accurate. First time we took ours in, no one mentioned fasting, and we had to make another trip.

[Actually you do not need to fast the ferret. According to Dr. Bruce Williams, DVM a non-fast reading of 60 mg/dl (3.3 Canadian values) or below is strongly indicative of insulinoma. However, some vets do insist on doing a fasting BG level. Best to call ahead and check. - Moderator (TD)].
