My vets feel that 3 hours is plenty of time for a blood glucose test, and if you suspect insulinoma, then you really don't want to go too long without letting the ferret eat, anyway. Also, most ferrets will eat somewhere around every 4 hours or so if left to their own choice, so 3 hours is nearing the "normal" lower range that their blood glucose levels might reach between meals.
