I said mre on this in a post under the original subject, but want to let people know that wehad a ferret who had genetic urinary tract issues who had both adrenals come out prophilactically at the same time as corrective surgery when he was only a kit. He was always prone to kidney problems but made it to the age of seven years, so over six years on the fludrocort and prednisolone. Another had bilateral adrenal carconoma in middle age, lost both glands, and was on the meds for five more years, passing elderly of heart issues.

Some ferrets who go Addisonian need a tiny bit of added salt in their diets until balance is managed, and many needhigher med doses whenever they are under any form of stress, or gain weight.___
