Sukie made excellent points in her last post. We gave Pertwee a
little extra salt in Bob Church's Chicken Gravy at the recommendation
of our vet. Pertwee had multiple medical problems at the time and was
terribly thin. Once the problems were all resolved he got back to the
normal body weight and we did have to adjust his medication.
Generally, if a ferret has no adrenal glands you're going to want to
have vet checkups every six months just to play it safe.

I should also add that when we finally lost Pertwee three and a half
years later in was to hepatic cell carcinoma (liver cancer) which was
completely unrelated to the previous illness. For him that second
adrenal surgery was a cure. He never had issues related to adrenal
disease again.
