It has been rare that I have not been able to switch a ferret over to a new treat or food. It may take a few tries, but it almost always works.

METHOD 1: Let them sniff a small piece of the new food in your hand. When they choose to ignore it, which they usually do, put it gently in their mouth. When they spit it out, let it go for then.... but try again later. Usually by the third time, or when they see other ferrets sitting next to them eating the same treat/food, they will realize that they are missing something yummy, and will join in.

METHOD 2: Put a drop of ferretone on the new piece of food. Try this a couple of times, then gradually put less ferretone, until there is none, only treat. This usually works for new food changes when I get in a new ferret and want to switch them over to my kibble.
