Hi there,

One of my guys at the moment was a terrible biter - he bit right through my
finger and almost out the other side (nail and all)! But we went through
every potential reason he was biting and eventually figured out that he was
doing it for attention - mostly he would bite whenever we went to put him
in his cage and bite if the others got picked up and we hadn't gotten to
him yet - of course it didn't work in his favour as each time he bit, it
made no-one want to pick him up again.

It was really hard work, but now he is the friendliest little guy - you
wouldn't believe the change - he is even a kisser!
So it is worth the perservance - but i know exactly how you feel. And, as
the previous poster said, punishment doesn't seem to work - I use positive
reinforcement with treats and affection, although it was difficult to find
a suitable moment where he was being good enough to get the treat.

Good luck and best wishes,
Teresa
