Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] New rescue of mine - suspect heart issues but wonder about oversized head

A vet visit ASAP is certainly very important. I would talk to the vet about perhaps a round of antibiotics (2 weeks or more) to help clear up any possible GI tract problems that may be contributing to the lack of bowel control, and possible lung infections, pneumonia, etc that could be causing the wheezing.

In the meantime, see if you can get him switched over to a more nutritious diet and supplement some probiotics like Forti-Flora, Benebac, or even acidophilus. Maybe a little nutritious paste like Ferret Vite or Nupro as a snack between meals. And as much exercise as he is interested in, meaning running around, not just climbing.

Is it possible that the 'oversized head' is maybe not so oversized as it seems, but perhaps his body is undersized from what it should be due to malnutrition?
