Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Deslorelin Weight Gain
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

The only time that one of my ferrets experienced weight gain after a Deslorelin implant was several months later, when his tumors, including a very large right adrenal carcinoma, began getting bigger. The other ferrets I've had on a Deslorelin implants have either shown no weight change or have actually lost some weight as they became more active again and got more into shape. That is my personal experience, anyway, from 5 ferrets with the implants. You might consider the possibility of another cause, such as tumors elsewhere, an enlarged spleen, or other possibilities.
