Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret with lymphoma and congestive heart failure treatment?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has treated these together and have questions regarding my vets treatment plan for my baby. Mojito is 6yr 9mnth old male privately bred baby. Diagnosed thru biopsy for lympho Sept. 28th. He is currently on the tuft's chemo protocol there have been setbacks with his treatment because of low wbc.

He is currently stopped at tuft's week 12 treatment of cytosar/leukeran. have not proceeded because he was having breathing issues and not wanting to eat. xrays showed a lot of fluid in chest. Was taken to cardio spectialist and had ekg done. was diagnosed with advanced dialated cardio/congestive heart failure/lymphoma-"suspcious for cranial thoracic mass on ultrasound(vs atelectatic lung lobe)".

Chest was drained on 01/04/12. Vet felt this was the last resort for the heart meds to start working. Currently he is on .06 lasix am .03 lasix pm, pimobendan 1/4 tablet 2x a day, enalapril 1/4 tablet once a day, continued pred for lymphoma of 2.5 mg tablet once a day. My vet has ordered procarbazine chemo drug for me to give at home. We have skipped the last round of cytoxan he was to get before the procarbazine due to stress.

I am scared to give him the procarbazine? Has anyone treated for these 2 awful diseases at the same time? Have any suggestions or feelings on this?

Thank you for reading my novel,
Lisa
