There still isn't a validated test for hypothyroidism in ferrets, Tressie. I did run a T4 in one patient which was low, and based on that and clinical signs, I opted for a "therapeutic trial" of supplementing the thyroid hormones. The ferret responded to treatment, so it comes down to one anecdotal case in my hands to date. I've seen other ferrets that I suspected hypothyroidism in and was not permitted to do diagnostics by the owners.
