Subject: [ferrethealth] Experimenting with unproven methods
To: ferrethealth <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
Hi, everyone,
Sometimes when proven methods fail or have significant side effects
you have no choice but to "experiment". My nine year old girl,
Zephyr, is the first ferret our vet has treated with metaproterenol
sulfate (in addition to aminophylline, enalapril and furosemide) for
third degree A/V node heart block and congestive heart failure. We're
now in the seventh month since diagnosis and Zephyr is still here and
still has a decent quality of life. I am very thankful for a vet who
decided to try something different.
IMHO, each and every situation has to be considered individually.
All the best,
Caity with Zephyr and Chin Soon
