Very true.

Our Fritter may have been the first ferret to get diazoxide, but if not the she was one of the first. We had to get bottle dregs from a human health study at a university hospital. Fritter was one of several ferrets we have had who tried a variety of new approaches that early. Most later became standard medications used for ferrets, but not all approaches did work. When new things were tried with our ferrets were times when the known approaches simply did not work sufficiently.
