Hello All,
I have first hand experience with raisins being toxic and causing renal failure in a ferret. Several years ago my sister owned a ferret and the only treat she ever wanted and got was raisins. She knew where they were stored and would sit in front of the cabinet and sit up begging for them. My sister nor I knew about the toxicity and everyday she got many raisins (10 or more). The ferret was found suffering in her bed one day. After taking her to the vet her blood test revealed kidney failure and was so far gone she had to be euthanized sadly.
I know with my own kidney failure, high levels of potassium in the blood is toxic and raisins are choked full of potassium. Not sure if one should compare humans kidney failure to a ferrets but......
Just my first hand experience.
