Subject: [ferrethealth] ibd flare up- gas
To: "ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
hi again. my ibd boy has been doing wonderfully on his pred and pepcid doses but i noticed issues on thursday and was watching for a flare up and sure enough friday he was having mood issues and loose stools. so he's on his flare up soup (boiled&liquified chicken thigh, chicken baby food, a little pedialyte, and a little pumpkin). his poops have improved dramatically as has his mood and energy. BUT within the last hour or so i've noticed his mood is aggressive and his belly is swollen and grumbling and sensitive to touch...obvious gas. he has an appointment with a new vet on tuesday morning first thing for a well-check and to discuss his overall health/ibd regimen. i thought that would be fine since i've been feeding him every three hours and he's been responding well. i had some issues with my old vet for him so unfortunately i can't reach out to him in this situation. i just want to know if there is anything i can do to help my little guy get through
this gas episode. he's so miserable right now and i don't want the stress to further delay his recovery from this flare up which was looking promising until the gas. thank you for any and all input.
