Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Vanadyl Sulfate for Insulinoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I would like to know abot Coco's update to. Otter also has insulinoma and he is on prednisolone, he has a big fat pred belly & if vanadyl could reduce his dependance on pred. it would be great for him. He seems happy, he is alert & I try to feed him 4-5 times a day. He eats his gruel with gusto too. I don't like the fact that the drug thats helping him is also destroying him.

[Please keep in mind that the definitive proof of whether Cocoa is truly better is to get that all-important blood glucose test done. If the vet firmly believes that the vanadyl is helping him, then he will have no issues with testing Cocoa's blood glucose levels. If on the other hand, he hums and haws, hesitates or gives reasons why it shouldn't be done, I would be very suspicious. - Moderator (TD)].
