A little [banana] now and then can teach them so that can help later if needed and that can be useful, but ferret tastes differ just as human ones do.

Years ago we also provided blueberries for a ferret with a difficult urinary tract infection under vet okay and monitoring. It helped a little, probably for the same reason as those and cranberries can help people, the tannins which prevent bacteria from attaching to the bladder walls.
