Mike,
I've been a rescue since 1998 and work closely with my vets and also spoke to other rescues about treatment for insulinoma.
My decision was and still is to use DEXAMETHASONE and I use the injectable form. It is a steroid like Pred, but doesn't cause Pred belly not does it upset their tummies. It also doesn't have to be given as often as the effects last longer. I have been using it for 6+ years in the ferrets with good results. My suggestion is to speak to your vet about this steroid and see if it will work well for your kids.
Koda has been on it for over 2yrs and I started out giving him a shot about 2 months and as time has gone on, now am giving it every 4 days.
