This ferret does not have an ulcer at all. I had two ferrets a couple years ago who were insulinomic. One had a big bleed which was red blood, our vet was closed, he was very weak, the emergency clinic doesn't take care of ferrets and we had to put him down (we didn't see any other options for him) This may not have been an ulcer could have been something else. The other ferret had lots of dark red liquid stool/blood. He was very ill and was loosing weight. Our vet who saw the dark red blood/stool thought it was due to an ulcer. Since he had been ill and loosing ground and his quality of life was nil we decided it would be best to help him over the bridge.
The ferret I was talking about is doing great his weight, muscle tone, alertness, quality of life is really good. No ulcer just the insulinoma which is doing fairly well. His last glucose was 77 I just noticed that he appeared to have some ataxia and wondered about going to three doses of meds instead of two or diazoxide.
He does not have lymphoma but he may be showing signs of adrenal disease, his fur is a little course and thinning some (on his belly). We're keeping an eye on it
