Hello Everybody,

The very best is to make jerky treats yourself from beef which is fit for human consumption. It's easy and your little carnivores, whether ferret, cat or dog, will love you for it.
Slivers of lean beef skewered and dried on the mantle piece over the fireplace, or in a fan-forced cool oven or in front of a fan (just use your imagination) that's all. On dry windy days I have hung them up on the clothes-line. Might raise the neighbour's eyebrows but it works. Flies won't touch the meat once the outside is superficially dry which happens very quickly. Jerky can be stored in an airtight container. No fear they won't go bad - they will be eaten long before that.

I hope you find this useful.

Yours,
Christina
