Wow Debi! Did you guys contact the Guiness Book of World records? How about Innova? Since they are reported to have only begun manufacturing pet food in 1993, I'm sure they'd love to advertise the longevity producing abilities of their product.
You mentioned to Mike in a previous post that you only started rescuing ferrets in 1998....
Breeding ferrets are intact, which means their systems aren't assaulted from major life altering surgeries when their bodies haven't even finished forming yet! Even Suki would agree that this surgical invasion and removal of hormone producing organs has a huge impact upon the ferret. Late alters too get to enjoy bodies that become fully developed.
Yes, people can decide what is best for themselves - but what is best for ferrets has already been naturally selected by eons of evolution and the thousands of years of domestication was built upon using an animal with carnivorous needs and predatory abilities!
