Well, 21 gauge is a lot fatter than 28. Try the needle approach if
you can -- it makes a huge difference for my guys. I just use a
small, light, quick prick, not a lot of force or pressure. The first
time I used a needle instead of a lancet I was pretty shocked at how
much easier it was on that particular ferret.
Tip of the tail: I've only seen this in person 2 or 3 times, done by
someone else. But I believe it is right on the end of the tail tip,
not from the side at all.
