Subject: [ferrethealth] Luxating Patella

Has anyone ever had to deal with this injury? If so, how did it happen, and how much did it heal over time?
My vet says that it will never fully heal but that my older girl Baby Girl (6.5 years) will learn to make some adjustments to be able to walk a bit better despite this injury. I don't know how it happened, but it was not from a fall, as she lives only on the floor level in the ferret room, free roam, with no obvious hazards whatsoever. It happened on January 1, and initially she could barely walk at all, but her mobility has slowly improved. Still far from normal, though.
