Fortunately George does not have any stairs. He does live in a Ferret Nation cage so there are ramps. We are cutting down the front of the litter pans (they are about an 1 and a half high) so he'll have an easier time getting in. We've noticed that he doesn't get in the litter pan as much as he used to. I thought it was due to insulinoma and low blood sugar but now I realize its due to pain.
We are more careful when we pick him up so we don't put any stress on his spine. We were never rough before but now were very careful
George is starting with (probably been going on a while but now we recognize it) adrenal disease. I'm thinking if we get him a Deslorin Implant that maybe he will feel better. I've noticed in the past when an adrenal ferret gets an implant he looks like he feels better, even if he didn't look like he felt bad before. There is no guarantee this will help but it wont hurt either. Maybe the hormones that the adrenal disease is putting out is causing more inflammation for him.
