Subject: [ferrethealth] Swollen foot-please respond asap
To: "ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

PLEASE take him to a vet and have it xrayed. He may have done more than just cut odd the circulation. If the tube bed is worn, throw it out. If his nails are long please make sure you keep them trimmed short and trim on a regular basis. People sometimes don't realise that when a toe nail gets snagged in bedding it will distress a ferret to the point that they will twist themselves in the bedding trying to get free causing more damage.

My guy got his right leg twisted up in his long tubelike bed. I went to give him food and found him like that; his foot is all swollen and what appears to be his upper leg, close to the joint.

Is this serious or will the swelling go down? My son said I should not ice it. Please respond asap.
