Subject: [ferrethealth] What to do if a ferret is around a puppy with worms?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Does anyone know for sure if ferrets can get worms? If my puppy Bella has worms can the ferrets get them? Bella was aleady treated with de wormer from the vet 2 weeks ago and I just now seen a couple of worms in her poop. I dont know how long she has had them because we ussually just pick up her puppy pad right away and throw it out but the pad was clean so I picked it up with T.P. to throw in toilet and I seen them. I have looked it up and have seen that yes they can get them and also - no it is not possible for them to get them. I also have heard that you should never give a de wormer medicine to a ferret. I will contact Bellas vet first thing in the morning but do I need to call the ferret vet also? (And I have 3 cats too.... probably have to get them taken care of too)

Thanks for any advice,
Anita
