Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Types of Biaxin for ulcers
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

I have had to deal with ulcers on four different occasions with four different ferrets in the last couple of years. Each time I used amoxicillin, carafate, and pepcid. That’s it. In all four cases the ulcers healed up fully, and the time frame needed varied from 3 weeks to about 6 weeks. Most recently my older girl Baby Girl needed two rounds of amoxy, 10 days each, as it seems to lose its potency after 10-14 days. But those are the only 3 meds I’ve ever used for ulcers. I know there are other more popular protocols with biaxin or metronidazole, but that’s been my experience.
