Ron:
Both "shivers" and decreased activity could be associated with insulinoma or pancreatic carcinoma. You say that the blood glucose test was "fine", but what was the specific test result, and how long of a fasting was there prior to the test? Insulinoma is not a "constant" disease and does cause wide fluctuations in the blood glucose level, so if "fine" is borderline (i.e. around 80), and he had eaten within 2 or 3 hours, then chances are that it may be dipping considerably lower than that at other times.
Are you able to watch Benjiman closely enough during the day to follow his eating habits? If he does have early stage insulinoma, and goes long periods of time without eating, it will worsen his situation and could lead to the symptoms you are seeing. Is there a way that you can perhaps feed him every 4-5 hours around the clock for a day or two and monitor the results in his behavior? This might be a clue as to what's going on with him.
