Despite lots of implants being possible in ferrets, I would still recommend the traditional implant location, ie, in the intrascapular region. The reason for this is that many scanners are not the "ring" style, so the whole body technique is not an option. In those cases, the person scanning the ferret is going to scan the traditional location, and if the chip is placed elsewhere, it could then be missed.
