Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal or heavy shed?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We have a ferret whom we adopted in September of 2008. We have no idea how old he is but he has been a very healthy ferret. About a month or two ago he started shedding and his fur got very thin, but it started growing back. It is still pretty short but it is super thick. The fur on his tail did not get thin, it stayed the same as it always has.

Does this sound adrenal like or just blowing his coat?

He is raw fed and has been since we adopted him. Our ferrets stay in the basement where is is normally very dim or totally dark.

Thanks

[Seems just a coat blow at this stage. Their coats can change seasonally i.e., colour, etc. - Moderator (TD)].
