I am not a doctor - I am a mom who has been ill with lyme, bartonella, babisea, and some other weird tick born infections since I was bit back when I was 14 years old - because I was not treated correctly back then these infections ran wild in my body and not knowing I had these (were told by doctors it was chronic fatigue syndrom and fibroyalgia...maybe MS) I gave these infections to my children....now we are in long term treatment for all this and I know it takes a long time to treat each infection after having them for so long.

If bartonella is not treated for long enough it does hide out and will come back...I do not know what the length of time is for ferrets but for humans this takes at least nine months depending on what strain of bartonella you have.

Bartonella in humans causes depression, anxiety, muscle pain, sleeping too much or insomnia....pain in your soles of your feet, and yes, terrible confusion... I am not saying this is what your baby has but I would at least call your vet and ask as usually vets are more up to date on treatment for tick born infections other then human doctors because they are not run by the IDSA and pharmaceutical industries.  (oh - and insurance industries)

for cats....make sure you read this all...it states to treat for a few months.....

my prayers are with you....these infections are not easy to treat... bless you and your little one..  Diane
