You are correct and I can demand she turn the ferret over to me. I'm in a bit of a financial situation myself. I lost my job a month ago with no severance pay. Unemployment is way short of covering my monthly expenses. I have cut every expense, taken in a second renter, held a yard sale and sold personal belongings to make sure I get my bills paid. So, spending $155 on a Des implant is not something I can do right now either. I will be running an auction starting this month to raise funds to cover rescue expenses.
I am urging the woman to find a way to afford the Des implant, even if borrowing from family or something. She is posting this on her Facebook page to see if she can get anyone to donate toward the cause. We have also contacted the original owner, whom paid for a year's worth of food and supplies when the ferrets were surrendered.
